Free World Dialup And Voxeo Announce Innovative Developer Solutions For SIP
Orlando, Florida / Melville, NY - August 14, 2003 -- Voxeo Corporation, a leading provider
of XML-based Interactive Voice Response (XVR) telephony application hosting and platforms, and Free
World Dialup, a peer-to-peer Internet telephony network for broadband users, announced the launch of
a developer and member connectivity partnership.
Free World Dialup offers broadband communication to a community of Internet consumers who call
each other using session initiation protocol (SIP) phones. Voxeo's community.voxeo.com developer
site and services enable any telephony or web developer to quickly and easily create, test, and
trial automated, telephone based applications.
By connecting the Voxeo Developer Community and Free World Dialup network, Voxeo Developers
and Free World Dialup users alike can create innovative, automated, time and money saving XML
voice response applications that can be accessed directly from any Free World Dialup phone.
Jeff Pulver, Founder of Free World Dialup said, "With the advent of our relationship with Voxeo,
the 45,000+ members of the global Free World Dialup community all have access to a free platform
where they can create cool new services and help us re-invent what communications is and will be,
one day at a time."
Jonathan Taylor, CEO of Voxeo Corporation stated, "Although Voxeo's VoiceCenter XML Voice
Response platform and hosting facilities have been 100% SIP based for over two years, until
today Voxeo developers and customers accessed our platform through traditional telephones
and networks. By connecting with Free World Dialup, we're now providing direct SIP access
to the rapidly growing FWD community, and a simple, flexible solution for our existing
developers and customers to access their Voxeo applications from the widest variety of
SIP hardware and software."
Voxeo and Free World Dialup will launch other integration features in the near future,
including the ability to call Free World Dialup phones from XML Voice Response applications
and access to advanced SIP calling services with CCXML, the W3C standard for flexible call
control markup.
