New York, NY and Beijing - August 19, 2008 -- Today at the SpeechTEK 2008 conference, Voxeo Corporation, a leading provider of IVR and VoIP platforms and services, announced it has acquired Micromethod Technologies, an innovative developer of SIP-based communication and collaboration software with headquarters in Beijing, China and San Jose, California. The acquisition bolsters Voxeo's line of SIP-focused products, services and developer solutions and serves as the foundation of Voxeo's expansion into the Asia Pacific (APAC) market.

Micromethod's customers include some of the largest voice platform and online collaboration service providers, such as Tellme and GMarket, as well as leading video and wireless communication vendors.

Micromethod's products include:

SIPMethod - an end-to-end platform for rapid development and deployment of SIP communication solutions. SIPMethod supports more than 30 Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), Java Specification Request (JSR), and W3C standards including SIP and HTTP Servlets, JAX-WS, JMX, and STUN. SIPMethod also supports converged SIP and HTTP applications, enabling flexible mashups of telephony, IM, presence, web 2.0, and SOAP/REST services and applications.

SIPoint - a comprehensive solution for SIP user collaboration, connectivity, routing, and messaging. SIPoint is built on the SIPMethod platform, includes SIP registrar, location, redirect, proxy, instant messaging, XCAP and presence services, adding support for 18 more IETF standards for SIMPLE, and OMA and 3GPP presence.

Horizon - a highly effective SIP firewall, NAT, and VPN solution. Horizon both enables secure SIP audio, video, and data connections and helps those connections traverse existing firewall and NAT implementations that block or break SIP-based collaboration. Horizon is also built on the SIPMethod platform. An H.323-compliant version of Horizon is also available.

Voxeo will continue to sell and enhance Micromethod products, and will also integrate them with Voxeo's Prophecy premise software, Evolution hosting, and new products and services that will be announced over the next six months.

Since its creation in 1998, VoiceXML has become the de facto open standard for the development of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and speech applications. Voxeo Prophecy is the most VoiceXML standard-compliant platform available today, and is the only platform to pass 100% of the VoiceXML Forum's mandatory and optional compliance tests. Voxeo was also first to support CCXML, the telephone call-control-focused sibling to VoiceXML. With the acquisition of Micromethod, Voxeo now complements VoiceXML and CCXML with a suite of open, API-driven development platforms and SIP-focused enterprise solutions based on Java Specification Request (JSR) standards.

All Micromethod employees have joined Voxeo and will work for Voxeo's newly launched Asia-Pacific subsidiary. Kevin Lu, Micromethod's CEO, has been named General Manager of Voxeo Asia-Pacific. Wei Chen, Micromethod's CTO, has been named Chief Architect of Voxeo worldwide.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
