Oh Come All Ye Techies

Geekful and Triumphant!

Yep, it's time for the 2011 Voxeo holiday letter

It's been quite a whirlwind at Voxeo this year. Our recount of the past 12 months is sure to roast your nose and tickle your toes. So put on your thermals and grab some eggnog as we take a look back at our favorite things.

There's No Place Like (a new) Home

Last year we outgrew our 15,000 square foot headquarters in Orlando.  So we clicked our heels (or rather our flip-flops) and 1,114 square feet of whiteboards, 508 interior glass windows, 28 large screens, and 6 months later we moved into our new 60,000 square foot headquarters. If you haven't visited recently, what are you waiting for?  We've got extra pillows in the guest room for you.  Our new home has:

• A 4,000 square foot central town square meeting area, with a cafe and full time barista, more than a dozen 55" screens, and comfy chairs and sofas

• Two theater rooms for customer presentations and employee play-time

• A board room wired for global audio and video pow wows

• Seven different types of meetings rooms

• A break room including increasingly competitive ping pong tables

New Roommates

If you build it, they will come.  And boy did they ever.  We made our new office a co-working facility (you can learn more about coworking at http://bit.ly/voxeo-coworking) and invited other Orlando technology companies in with us. Row Sham Bow, a startup social gaming company who just launched their first game on Facebook; Look New Media, a new-media marketing firm and Envy Labs, a Ruby-focused web application company, are just a few of the tech businesses that we're rooming with. Orlando's FOX35 did a great interview about the community.   You can watch it at http://bit.ly/voxeo-on-fox

The 2011 Unlocked and Loaded Voxeo Customer Summit

How did we top last year's All Access Customer Summit?  With more content, more interaction and more food of course!  This year's Unlocked and Loaded experience gave customers, partners and developers an in-depth look at our newest products, latest features and future plans.  To give everyone an inside look at our life size think tank, we hosted a party at Voxeo Headquarters and oh what a time it was!  The Party at the Plaza was more of a chic circus including a nitrogen ice cream station, life size Asian bento box, dueling pianos and a very intense poker tournament.  If you missed it, we hope you will join us next year!  For those of you on the West Coast, you're in luck – Voxeo Labs will be hosting a similar event in the summer of 2012 in addition to our 4th annual Customer Summit.

Chief Customer Officer Role & Net Promoter

We're always looking for ways to wow our customers.  In 2011 we created the Chief Customer Officer role at Voxeo to further our customer-centric culture.  Fueled by a team of motivated Voxeons (that's what we call ourselves) who believe in Santa...and that an extraordinary customer experience is essential to building an extraordinary company. We use Net Promoter Score (NPS, a sort of Naughty and Nice list of customer service) to understand how we're doing with our customers. Voxeo's transactional NPS score is 80%.   How good is that? Let's just say there won't ever be any coal in our corporate stockings!

Voxeo Connects the Dots

We feel like we just don't talk as much as we used to.   So just this past week we launched a new global partner program to help our partners focus on customer experience technologies – a market that's expected to eclipse $7.6 billion in 2012. Yes, that's $7.6 billion – even without the sharks with freakin' lasers on their heads.

Grab Your Beaker and Lets Innovate

Voxeo Labs continues blazing new ground with our flagship product, Tropo, by adding new features and attract hundreds of new developers every day, including Babelverse, a startup that launched at LeWeb in Paris.  In addition to launching a new, excruciatingly simple text messaging platform, SMSified, new versions of Phono, PRISM, and the launch of Rayo, the Labs team has been busy jetting around the globe, sponsoring, speaking and organizing dozens of events, hackathons, barcamps and meetups.  If that sounds like a blur of activity, don't worry...it does to us too!

Ho Ho SNOW!

What do you get when you mix a beautiful Florida day, temperatures in the 70s, more than 100 Voxeons and six tons of man-made snow? The holiday card photo, our CEO Jonathan doing snow angels, and a post-picture snow ball fight of course! Just minutes after our 2011 holiday photo shoot wrapped up the snow started flying. You can watch the "making of" video at http://bit.ly/voxeo-snow.

The Family Keeps Growing!

Voxeo saw strong double-digit growth this year, with some of our products growing more than 100%.  This year we won the largest premise IVR deal in the world - and the largest IVR hosting deal in the world - and we couldn't be more pleased.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who had a hand, or two, or three or thirty, in giving us so much to celebrate this year.  Thank you so very much for your business, partnership, and growth.  We love working with all of you.  Stay tuned for Voxeo's 2012 clipboard of fun.

In the meantime, eggnog refills anyone?

Wishing you a safe and prosperous 2012...

- The Voxeo Team
