About IMified
IMified is the world's largest hosted instant messaging application development and deployment platform. The solution makes it amazingly easy to IM-enable existing applications, as well as create standalone automated IM agents, called bots. Interactive IM applications created on IMified work with all the public IM networks, including AOL, Cisco/Jabber, Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo. Over 11,000 developers use IMified to develop and deliver IM bots supporting customer service inquiries, package tracking, emergency notifications, interactive games, customer surveys, identity verification, access to Google calendars, Twitter messages and more.
IM is a natural extension to voice self-service and an important component of a company's unified communication strategy. Businesses have found IM to be a low-cost, in-demand method to facilitate both customer-facing and internal communications. On average, an IM interaction is 1/10 the cost of Interactive Voice Response (IVR), and 1/100 the cost of a live agent phone calls. However, building, managing and scaling an interactive IM application has traditionally been a complex and frustrating task. Proprietary instant messaging protocols make it difficult to support multiple IM networks and the libraries available for connecting to these networks are often outdated and hard to use.
IMified removes the complexity from IM application creation with a simple, yet powerful, web-based platform that allows developers to write their application once, host it on any web server, and communicate with any IM network or platform. IMified's built-in features also make it a perfect solution for integrating presence and real-time text into existing web and desktop applications.
IMified was acquired by Voxeo in June 2009.
