IVR VoIP > Prophecy SIP Application Server Software

The Prophecy SIP Application Server software is built on Voxeo's proven Call Control XML (CCXML) engine and has routed over one billion calls since its first production deployment in early 2002. CCXML lets any company create intelligent, dynamic SIP applications that can screen, route, transfer, and initiate SIP VoIP calls - including SIP redirect, proxy, and Back-to-Back User Agent (B2BUA) applications. The Prophecy SIP Application Server also supports least-cost and multi-network call routing with the ENUM route directory standard.

Voxeo's SIP Application and Media Servers are part of the Prophecy SIP Platform. You can try Prophecy at no cost, right now, via our free Prophecy download or our free hosted Evolution developer portal.

What is CCXML?

CCXML is the call control application standard from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the same standards body that delivered HTTP and HTML -- arguably the two most successful application development standards ever created. CCXML gives VoIP developers total control over how phone calls are placed, answered, transferred, conferenced, routed, and more. CCXML works hand-in-hand with any web application server or platform to enable dynamic, intelligent control over all VoIP calls.

To learn more about CCXML, please visit our CCXML technical introduction.

What can the Prophecy SIP Application Server be used to deliver?

CCXML has been used by Voxeo customers to create a range of call control applications, including: Back to Back SIP User Agents (B2BUA), SIP redirect servers, SIP load balancers, Virtual or "hosted" IP PBX and call-center / ACD solutions, click-to-dial SIP call launchers, find-me-follow-me applications, and more.

When combined with our Prophecy SIP Media Server, our customers have also used CCXML to deliver speech-driven conferencing, call recording platforms, emergency notification / audio broadcast services, auto attendant applications, telephone surveys, unified messaging platforms, bill payment solutions, voice broadcasting services, and general speech or touch-tone driven IVR.

How does the Prophecy SIP Application Server compare to other solutions?

The Voxeo Prophecy SIP Application Server includes many valuable features other platforms lack, including full W3C standards support, Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), ENUM DNS call routing, and more. The following chart summarizes Voxeo's feature advantages over most other vendors:

CCXML is the W3C standard for telephony call control. It includes call routing, conferencing, dialing, and more.
CallXML is a Voxeo-designed language that is much easier to develop applications in than VoiceXML and CCXML.
The Prophecy SIP Application server enables rapid integration with back-end databases, logic, and web services via its built in support of HTTP and XML.
Most SIP app platforms have little if any CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) support. CTI is required for most call center IVR deployments. Voxeo offers CTI solutions for Cisco ICM, Genesys T-Server, and Nortel and Avaya call center platforms. Additional CTI interfaces can be built quickly via Voxeo's CCXML based CTI-plug-in interface.
The Prophecy platform includes intelligent call analysis to determine if outbound calls are answered by people, answering machines, voicemail systems, or network error messages. This capability is vital when using IVR for outbound notification, collections, and campaign calls.
The Prophecy platform has proven scalability from as few as 1 to as many as 5,000 ports. Most vendors have not deployed SIP application systems larger than 200 ports.
Voxeo uniquely offers the Prophecy platform as either a premise solution you can buy outright, or hosted service you can use by the minute.
Simply put, Voxeo is the industry leader in proactive and reactive support services. We offer 24 x 7 support with fully trained, VoiceXML certified technicians and IVR developers. No matter when a problem occurs, our top-notch staff is available to help you.
